How to remove a member from your account
When someone leaves your team — they switch jobs, you wrap up a project, or you simply no longer need them in the Account — you can remove them. Only Owners and Admins can remove members.
What removal does
Section titled “What removal does”Removing a member:
- Revokes their access immediately. They can no longer log into your Account.
- Doesn’t delete their work. Dubs they created stay in the Account.
- Doesn’t delete their user account. They can still log into Dubly.AI itself with other Accounts they belong to. Removal is a hard, immediate action. There’s no “deactivated” state where they keep partial access.
How to remove someone
Section titled “How to remove someone”- Open the Members page from your Account settings.
- Find the person you want to remove.
- Open their row’s actions menu and choose Remove.
- Confirm. That’s it — they’re out as soon as you confirm.
Who you can’t remove
Section titled “Who you can’t remove”- The Owner. The Owner role can’t be removed; ownership has to be transferred to someone else first.
- Yourself, if you’re the Owner. Same reason.
Before you remove someone
Section titled “Before you remove someone”For an organized hand-off:
- Make sure their active dubs aren’t a surprise to anyone. Dubs they started will continue, but if you want to track them, note them down before removing.
- Document any custom voices, glossaries, or Translation Styles they configured so the rest of the team knows where they came from. For a more thorough hand-off, see How to off-board a member.
